Your grip is the foundation of your swing. A bad grip can lead to weak contact, inconsistent power, and poor bat control. But when your hands are positioned correctly, you unlock your full potential at the plate!

✅ Top hand loose on top two fingers, bottom hand firm on top three fingers. This allows the barrel to whip through the zone upon swing.
✅ Knuckles partially aligned – Keep your “door-knocking” knuckles on top hand from lining up with large knuckles on bottom hand for maximum bat control.
✅ No death grip until ready to launch! – A tight grip slows your hands and reduces power. Stay relaxed and let the barrel do the work.

Young athletes should practice a skill at 100% effort (almost out of control) once they get the basics down. This way when they are in games they can focus on doing each skill at high quality with a small drop in effort (around 80-90%).

Most young athletes practice at about 60% and then they try to put in more effort for games. When in fact they will not ever get above their 60% effort threshold they already set themselves prior.
